streaming videogames
Una entrada más de nuestro Blog para profundizar en el fascinante mundo de los video juegos. Hoy de la mano de nuestro profesor Álvaro Cáceres. No te lo pierdas!
Nowadays most children (and not children) living in developing countries have at least one console. These entertainment platforms seem to be constantly growing. As evidence of this, each year the most important companies in this sector have an appointment in Los Angeles, USA, which is considered the most important event regarding the gaming industry, having an enormous global impact.
It appears that not only the game industry but also the technological one is exponentially growing. Also, the fact of having access to video games through online platforms such as “PlayStation Store”, “Steam”, etc. is important to spread all the content that companies want to sell.
In addition, it could be said that this spread of video games has been also possible due to the streaming platforms such as “Twitch”, “YouTube”, “Facebook”, etc. Although there are platforms which have disappeared such as ‘Mixer’, these platforms are seen by many young adults, that is why TV programmes are dealing with an audience drop because they cannot engage with the new generations. This rise of the streaming platforms could not have been possible without all the content creators who actually are the ones behind these platforms.
But what is a content creator? Well, these so called ‘content creators’ are the ones working with brands showing their products to their audience while they play videogames or just chat with their followers. Also, they use their social media to be in touch with their followers, uploading photos or videos of what they do in their daily lives. This way they create a strong engagement with their followers creating a community. These communities are seen by top brands as an opportunity to reach a big amount of people with the product they want to sell and that is why they contact the streamers in order to show the product to their fans. As you may know, there are top content creators here in Spain that not only are seen by Spanish people but also by all the Spanish speaking countries.
To sum up, it appears that the video game industry will continue growing due to the fact that it goes hand in hand with the technological one. Moreover, it is remarkable how content creators are helping to spread the products, in some cases video games, to their audience by playing games for entertaining them. Moreover, these gameplays are able to make the viewer buy the videogame that he or she has been watching online. So, I strongly believe that the video game industry has a prosperous future and long-lasting life.
